on
Brownsville Butcher & Pantry
Lauren a produce farmer and Peter a chef opened this fabulous market and butcher shop. They also make pastries and sandwiches and pull a mean pint of beer. We were tired of driving up there for an occasional sourdough bagel or hand-crafted sandwich so we have brought them to all of you here in Springfield. Because they are always fresh and awesome good they go quick so hurry in or wait until next week.
Rockingham Roasters
Jennifer makes smooth and robust medium and dark roasted coffees with the top 5% of green coffee beans available worldwide. She started roasting our own coffee when we had trouble finding the hearty and full-bodied flavors we love—the kind of unapologetically nutty and sweet coffee that can be found on any street corner in Italy. Neither acidic nor burnt, their coffees span the range from mellow to bold with all sorts of comforting goodness.
Flying Crow Coffee
The hometown favorite, Ben and Sam roast their beans right here in Springfield. Taste their coffee here or check out their website to order fresh beans for your home brew. One of our favorites is Raven Dusk Dark Roast. It is an earthy dark roast with hints of chocolate and a touch of spice.
teapigs.
Given that it makes up most of their name it’s safe to say they love tea, particularly real tea. By real tea, we mean top quality tea leaves, whole herbs, whole berries, whole spices, whole flowers you get the picture. It's all about the flavor. The tea in regular tea bags has been squashed,
chopped and manhandled so, by the time it reaches your cup, almost all the flavor is lost. We don't think that's very nice. While not from Vermont, we couldn’t pass up the flavors and quality. We carry a selection from citrusy Earl Grey, Chinese Green Tea, and a selection of herbals.
Piecemeal Pies
Justin the owner worked in a Michelin Star restaurant in New York City before opening up Piecemeal Pies a British inspired pie shop in White River Junction, VT. They specialize in savory meat pies, but really, we love our vegetables and sweets just as much. Using local, organic, and seasonal ingredients and working with farmers to make sure they always have the best vegetables, fruits, and meats possible. Believe that starting with exceptional ingredients grown and raised by people we know, and committing to quality all along the way makes for the tastiest pies. We couldn’t agree more and are happy to bring them to the community we love.
Serendipity
Lindsey is one of our Baristas who is also one of the most awesome bakers we know. We wish we had a larger pastry case to accommodate all the yummy things she makes. Her talent really shines with her vegan and gluten-free bakes. If we didn’t make the sign to let you know, you would never suspect her brownies, macaroons, and raspberry thumbprints were nothing but V/G-F
